Getting Real in Italy

I’ve spent most of my life traveling to stadiums around the country, but I never really had a chance to do any trips to Europe, so I went to Italy a couple years ago. My husband had just won the Stanley Cup, and we went to the Amalfi Coast to celebrate. I quickly realized that the Italian food we have in the U.S. isn’t like what they have there. It’s clean and delicious. They’re not serving garlic bread at dinner.

Honeymooning with Friends

We went to Greece and Spain for our honeymoon. As silly as it sounds, we ended up bringing two of our best friends with us because we went for two weeks and thought, “Yeah, we got married. We love each other, but we don’t want to spend two weeks alone with each other.” Our best friends came with us for the beginning part of the trip, and then we had the last portion of the trip by ourselves. It was perfect.

 A Whale of a Time

One of our best vacations was when we visited Punta Mita, Mexico, during the humpback-whale migration. On the first day, we went out on a boat and of course didn’t see anything. We were so bummed. We sailed back out the next day determined to see them. Still nothing. But as we were pulling in, I could hear this mama and her baby calf and the dad putting on a major display. We were freaking out.

Boston Blitz

New England might be my favorite spot in the U.S. to visit because I’m from there. I must
have a bowl of clam chowder when I’m visiting Boston.
